Hi Stephanie,

Thanks so much for being willing to handle everything while I’m gone. Especially on such short notice!

Since my mother’s passing, I’ve been bombarded with messages from colleagues and friends. It’s hard for me to stay on top of everything while trying to support my family emotionally and take time to grieve.

I know it’s going to be very hard to reschedule everyone in the coming weeks with the busy schedule we have right now, but I’m actually not worried about it at all because I know how organized you are!

That’s why I hired you in the first place, and I’ve never regretted that decision! I’m really sorry though to put you through this, but I guess my family is more important than my clients’ teeth.

I’m going to make it up to you somehow in the next few months. How about a balmy vacation in the tropics?

Thanks again so much for all the hard work you do to keep our clients happy!

Sincerely,
Dave

P.S. Please apologize profusely to Mr. Walker because this is the second time I’ve had to postpone his root canal!

Subject: Re: Managing the Clinic While You're Away

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your kind words. Please don't worry about the clinic right now. Your family should be your priority, and everyone here understands that. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I've already started contacting patients to rearrange appointments. Most people have been very understanding, although a few are disappointed because the next available openings are several weeks away.

I spoke with Mr. Walker this morning. He wasn't thrilled about postponing his root canal again, but he appreciated the explanation and asked me to pass along his condolences.

The dental assistants have offered to help with some administrative work, which should make things easier. We've also temporarily reduced the number of new appointments we accept each week until you return.

As for the tropical vacation, I'll definitely keep that offer in mind! For now, focus on your family and take all the time you need. We'll take good care of everything here.

Take care,
Stephanie
